Wall Décor Adds Some Sparkle To A Room
For the majority of homeowners, few things are worse than a bare expanse of wall in a room, especially if they are large rooms. While some people don’t mind, the majority of homeowners like to find some sort of wall décor in order to break up the monotony and add some sparkle and joy to a room
Of course, one of the most obvious things that can decorate a wall is pictures, and many people enjoy prints such as Sunflowers by Van Gogh, the Mona Lisa by da Vinci, The Scream by Edvard Munch, or Monet’s Garden at Giverny. However, when you buy a print such as one of those you do not have something original because many other people will have a copy too. There are art galleries galore where, for somewhat more than a framed print, you can buy an original work of art which is unique, so only you have it.
Many people like the idea of plates for wall décor and you can find them in charity shops. Most of them are 8” wide and contain pictures of all sorts – many of them animals. Some companies such as Franklin Mint have produced limited edition series such as the one of Jack Russell terriers which they produced some years back and which they released at one a month over the course of a year. The charity Save the Whales sponsored a series showing whales leaping out of the sea.
Of course, if pictures and plates are not your “thing” there is plenty of other wall décor available, some of it very wacky. For instance, you can buy a large trophy head of a unicorn with a silver finish to mount on the wall, or a pair of “angel wings”. There is also a T-Rex skull wall head trophy, or if you wanted to be a bit more traditional you can buy a stag’s head complete with horns which is available in white or silver. Or how about a knife, fork, and spoon set in polished aluminium which are over a metre long? You can hang these either horizontally or vertically, as you choose.
