Kartell Lighting – Designed For the Modern World

The company Kartell was founded in Italy in 1949 by Giulio Castelli, and is today run by Claudio Luti, and has become an international success story in the fields of lighting, furniture, furnishings, and home accessories. The company collaborates with many international designers to produce goods for the home that are both artistic and functional. The great designs combine both of these so that Kartell has become a name that is revered around the world.

Kartell is forever experimenting with the use of plastics and new technologies to improve functional performance and the aesthetics of everything that the company produces. Nowhere is this more true than in its’ range of lighting which has to be seen to be believed.

Kartell now has representation in over 130 countries with 130 single-brand flagship stores, 250 “shop within shops”, and no fewer than 2,500 independent retailers.

Kartell lighting includes some incredible designs which have turned traditional thinking on its’ head. Take, for example, the Taj table lamp which is a thing of grace that performs the precise function for which it is intended yet has a curvature that makes a table lamp as simple as it could be. It is available in glossy white, glossy black, crystal, or satin frosted. It is produced in two different sizes, depending upon how much light you need and how much desk or table space you have.

Kartell lighting includes the Tati table lamp which is totally different. It has clean and simple lines and a rectangular base with a shade which is also rectangular and is available in white or with a pleated finish which diffuses the light.

The lighting range doesn’t just consist of table lamps because Kartell lighting also includes a huge range of pendant ceiling lamps. The Easy is a tubular lamp with two different sections, one of which is totally transparent, and the other which is sanded. The lamp is available in seven different colours and the clear section lets the light appear clear and beautiful, while the sanded section diffuses the light to produce a subtle wonderful glow.
